If you were undecided about whether to purchase a kitchen island or not then look no further, by the end of this article you should have a clearer idea in mind over the advantage of this acquisition in your kitchen. So without any further introduction, I’m going to present you three reasons on why a kitchen island is a smart purchase.

First and foremost, the space. Think about the extra storing space that will add; and you know how kitchens are, you can never have too much space. They come in a variety of sizes as well, smallest being 18 square inches, until as large as 60 square inches. Second is the functionality. Kitchens, more than any other room in the house, serve a lot of purposes, look at all the appliances you have on the counters and you will know what I mean. With a built-in kitchen island (yes, they come in wheels too) you can install electrical outlets in it, a sink, an oven,  laminate bench tops pretty much everything you can think of, within reason. And last but not least, the efficiency. The most popular type of kitchen islands is the wooden-butcher-block one, that serves as a cutting board, admit that you could use one.

Hopefully by now you understood why I’m an advocate of kitchen-islands, they are very versatile, not necessarily very expensive (keep an eye on the good deals) and don’t require much, just some square inches to fit in.
